Harry Potter Studio Tour and France

Hi all!

After an exciting day of transit involving buses and the Chunnel, we have arrived in France! The group had a bus tour of Paris which had us touring Champs Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, the Jardins de Tuileries, and many other exciting landmarks. Students had about an hour after dinner to explore our neighbourhood and the narrow streets with beautiful old buildings and great character that surround us.

Two days ago students explored the Harry Potter Studio and came back raving about what they saw. Sets, props, costumes, the miniature of the castle used for filming (that took up the entirety of a massive room) and the opportunity to take photos in the Weasley's car (the same one that crashed into the whomping willow) were all highlights of the day. Internet has been a bit slow, hence the difficulty attaching pictures to these blog posts. Your students have graciously been sharing their pictures with me, and we hope to be able to feature them here as soon as possible!

I've also reminded the students to stay in touch with their worried parents back at home, since all of us are enjoying this adventure so much that we occasionally forget to set up Skype dates with those in Canada (and beyond). All are safe and sound and incredibly excited to see what adventures await us in Paris. Tomorrow we have a walking tour of the Left Bank that will take us by Notre Dame and hopefully result in some beautiful pictures.

Bon soir from Paris!
